Aesops Fables - The Miser and His Gold
This is No.3 in my series of Aesops Fables.
The Miser and His Gold
Once upon a time there was a Miser who used to hide his gold at the foot of a tree in his garden; but every week he used to go and dig it up and gloat over his gains. A robber, who had noticed this, went and dug up the gold and decamped with it. When the Miser next came to gloat over his treasures, he found nothing but the empty hole. He tore his hair, and raised such an outcry that all the neighbours came around him, and he told them how he used to come and visit his gold. "Did you ever take any of it out? asked one of them.
"Nay," said he, "I only came to look at it."
"Then come again and look at the hole," said a neighbour; "it will do you just as much good."
MORAL - Wealth unused might as well not exist.

Aesops Fables - The Crow and the Pitcher
Here's the second in my series of Aesops Fables. Getting deep down and dirty with some serious cross hatching action.
Inked Art
Pencil Rough
The Crow and the Pitcher
A CROW perishing with thirst saw a pitcher, and hoping to find water, flew to it with delight. When he reached it, he discovered to his grief that it contained so little water that he could not possibly get at it. He tried everything he could think of to reach the water, but all his efforts were in vain. At last he collected as many stones as he could carry and dropped them one by one with his beak into the pitcher, until he brought the water within his reach and thus saved his life.
MORAL - Necessity is the mother of invention.

I was expecting a bit of rough style breakbeat, but it's a bit more Nitan Sawnay than that. Bit too warbly on the vocals.

VA - Electric Gypsyland 2
Double album of Balkan music, one disc of raw pulsing foot stompers straight from the squeezebox, and the other a selection of tracks mixed by a random choice of other musicians, bands and remixers. Actually pretty good, though it looses points for having possibly the worse album cover of any album that I can think of - not including any of those "Ibiza beach bar" style compilations of course.

Feed Your Head - Vol 1
Nice compilation from the mid 90's. I wore a Feed Your Head long sleeve T-Shirt to death which is how I first heard about this recording. In fact, I wore the T-Shirt for years before I knew it was anything more than a nice graphic. Cool music, very chilled.

kettel - Cenny Crush
I think Kettel's flipping ace, and this record is pretty nice, though not as refined as his more recent stuff. Still, very enjoyable bleep bleep twiddle techno.

Aesops Fables - The fox and the goat
The Fox and the Goat
A FOX one day fell into a deep well and could find no means of escape. A Goat, overcome with thirst, came to the same well, and seeing the Fox, inquired if the water was good. Concealing his sad plight under a merry guise, the Fox indulged in a lavish praise of the water, saying it was excellent beyond measure, and encouraging him to descend. The Goat, mindful only of his thirst, thoughtlessly jumped down, but just as he drank, the Fox informed him of the difficulty they were both in and suggested a scheme for their common escape. "If," said he, "you will place your forefeet upon the wall and bend your head, I will run up your back and escape, and will help you out afterwards." The Goat readily assented and the Fox leaped upon his back. Steadying himself with the Goat's horns, he safely reached the mouth of the well and made off as fast as he could. When the Goat upbraided him for breaking his promise, he turned around and cried out, "You foolish old fellow! If you had as many brains in your head as you have hairs in your beard, you would never have gone down before you had inspected the way up, nor have exposed yourself to dangers from which you had no means of escape."
MORAL - Look before you leap.
