Canadian Running Magazine - March/April 2009

A feature on a group of mums that meet up and go running. The text starts of with a paragraph about running to the top of a jolly big hill, so I took that as the start point for the illustration and made it into some mythical mount doomesque type mountain.

Butterfly Poems

I'm working on a series of illustrations for a book on poetry written by a wonderful chap called Bill. All of the poems are about butterflies and all the varying degrees of mischief they get up too! This is for a poem entitled "Butterfly Airforce" to accompany the following lines -

"The Duke of Burgundy looks quite a dandy,
And when in combat, drinks vintage brandy."

Text book illustration

Most of the time text books require drawings of things in everyday life, such as plates of peas, or someone doing the washing up. Occasionally I get something a little different, an example being the three witches from Shakespeares play.

Dragons Blood Pirates - Series 2

It's with great excitement that I've started getting busy with series 2 (books 7-12) of the Dragons Blood Pirates series for Hachette in Australia. The first series is out and doing the rounds. Here's a website all about it - Here
